Webelos Introduction

It is about the time of year that many Webelos Scouts start looking for a Boy Scout Troop to graduate into.  This is a very important step in deciding what you want out of your future in Scouting.  Although you can always transfer to another Troop later,  it is usually best to spend some time trying to find a Troop you will be happy with for some time.  Many things need to be considered.  What are you interested in? High adventure or would you rather something a little more tame?  Do you want to camp a lot or would you rather other activites?   Do you want a big Troop or a small one?

To help you out, we have included a list of questions you might want to print out and take with you to ask when you visit Troops.  We have also included Troop 299's answers to those questions on a separate sheet.  Although Troop 299 is always happy to welcome new members, we think it is important that you find a Troop that fits you best.  We are proud of our boys and our program but we know we are not right for everyone.  If you think of other questions that should be included, please Email us at bsatroop299@yahoo.com and we will include them.
