Troop 299 Orienteering Page
This page is dedicated to those individuals [scouts and families] who are interested in Orienteering "The Thinking Sport". We who live in and around San Diego have a tremendous resource available to us in the San Diego Orienteering Club [SDO]. On about a monthly basis, SDO puts on orienteering meets in the local mountains and other areas around San Diego. SDO consists of a dedicated group of volunteers who love the sport of orienteering and are more than happy to invite new enthusiasts into the fold. For more information about SDO you can visit the San Diego Orienteering Club web page.
Several scouts and their families have taken part in SDO meets and have expressed interest in upcoming events. Periodically, Troop 299 will formally take part in an SDO event, including car pooling and/or campouts at sites near the event. For oher meets, individual families are invited to attend for the day and enjoy the many levels of orienteering. We provide information on upcoming SDO and other orienteering meets and opportunities whether we plan a Troop event or leave it open to individuals.
